CAN WE BRING OUR DOG?
Well-behaved dogs are more than welcome to stay. Our own loves to join us for the excellent walking in the area. However, we ask that pets use the ground floor and are not allowed to jump up on sofas and beds. We provide dog covers for the sofas in the garden room of Lark Rise and ask that the faux fur rugs are used to protect all other sofas. Dogs should not be left unattended in the property at any time. We only allow one dog to stay at any time and expect owners to deal with any dog poo left in the garden.

IS THE COTTAGE SUITABLE FOR DISABLED GUESTS?
The cottage is spread over three floors so guests need to be able to use the stairs comfortably. Please note the main bathroom is located on a different floor to the bedrooms. Lark Rise has an ensuite for the rear double bedroom.

IS THE COTTAGE SUITABLE FOR SMALL CHILDREN?
Parents should take care to ensure that upstairs windows are kept shut, and that children are kept clear of the steep stairwells. We are unable to provide stairgates in Honeysuckle but they are available in Lark Rise. Both properties have cots and high chairs on request.

DOES THE COTTAGE HAVE WIFI?
Yes, guests may use wifi.

DO THE COTTAGES HAVE WASHING FACILITIES?
Yes, both have a washing machine, clothes hanger dryer and basic ironing facilities.

IS THERE A HOUSEKEEPER?
Yes, the property will be fully checked, cleaned and disinfected before and after your visit in line with the latest government advice. There is an emergency number to call should the need arise.

DO THE COTTAGES HAVE VIEWS OF THE LOCAL COUNTRYSIDE?
Yes, both gardens overlook an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) including a valley and rolling Cotswold hills. There are dining areas in the garden. Lark Rise also has a garden room from where you can admire the countryside.

DOES THE PROPERTIES HAVE WOOD-BURNERS?
Yes, both the properties have full central heating and a cosy wood-burning stove.

HOW OLD ARE THE COTTAGES?
The Churchill family who owned the surrounding lands built the cottage in 1862 to house local agricultural workers. Both have many period features and have unusually high ceilings which gives them a light airy feel. The walls are also exceptionally thick (at least 2ft of Cotswold stone) so that is both quiet and cosy.

DO THE COTTAGES HAVE ANY PERIOD FEATURES?
Yes, Honeysuckle has stone mullioned windows in all the rooms, window seats in the sitting room and dining rooms, stone flagged and oak floors. The bathroom and kitchen are of a sympathetic design and fitted with modern equipment. Lark Rise similarly has window seats and exposed beams and Cotswold stone walls.

HOW FAR ARE LOCAL WALKS?
You can join the Heart of England Way, Monarch's Way and the Diamond Way from a footpath 100 yards from the cottage. The Heart of England way joins the Cotswold Way at Chipping Campden.

HOW FAR IS CHIPPING CAMPDEN?
It is about 3 miles and you can walk to it in about 90 minutes. There are plenty pubs and tea houses as well as excellent art galleries and a museum to visit when you get there.

HOW FAR IS BATSFORD ARBORETUM/BOURTON HOUSE?
They are about 2 miles by car or about 60 minutes if walking. The walk offers excellent views of Blockley and is rewarded by access to the Arboretum which was once home to the famous Mitsford girls. Bourton House has lovely gardens and sometime showcases the work of local artists but is only open on special days and is not open to dogs. Both have excellent tea rooms.
